About the Tri-Star ‘Rat Shack’ rodent bait station

Our rodent bait station has been designed with Australian made quality and durability in mind. The body of our stations are made of  very strong High Density, new or virgin (not recycled) Polyethylene (HDPE). The 3.5 mm thick walls have UV stabilizers added to the HDPE in the production process to give 20 years plus, in service life. The sun durability is critical in Australia due to high levels of UV in our sunlight and these stations have passed the test of time ensuring that it can withstand even the most challenging environments compared to other cheaper 1mm wall thickness, ice-cream container like stations, that will crack and crumble in our Australian sun.

The top locking pin and two bait pins are made of Grivory. Grivory is a glass filled nylon product that replaces metal components in the automotive industry engine components, for example inlet manifolds. The advantage of using grivory in rodent baiting is that they do not emit a magnetic field to deter or react with some soft/hard baits in damp conditions. These magnetic fields given off by standard metal pins can deter shy roof rats in some circumstances and potentially stop bait take. The station features a key operated, secure locking mechanism that prevents unauthorized access, keeping your bait secure and out of reach of non-target animals. The bait station also offers easy access for pest controllers, with a simple and user-friendly design that allows for quick and easy cleaning. With a simple turn of the locking pin the bait station lays out totally flat and with no corners to hold dirt, grime, spiders, etc. It is as simple as opening and brushing, rebaiting and locking in 10 seconds flat! We know that some rodents, mice in particular can be very cautious where there is spiders or cobwebs and is likely to not enter a station that has webs inside it.
